103rd Rose Bowl Game

103rd Rose Bowl Game

As the 2017 Rose Bowl draws nearer the college football teams are finally announced!  First, some general information about the Rose Bowl.

The Rose Bowl is held at Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California on January 2nd, 2017. Game time is 1:30 p.m. but the activities start much earlier, beginning with the 128th Rose Bowl Parade. The Rose parade will feature floral floats, spirited marching bands and high-stepping equestrian units along the 5 1/2 mile route down Colorado Boulevard. Following the parade, there is some epic tailgating. Free and open to the public, tailgate activities are fun for all. Looking for tickets? We suggest acting fast. Ticketmaster has very few left.

Getting to the game may be on of the most points to review as navigating the general Los Angeles area, as well as parking at the stadium can be a mess. Parking prices for the game AND the parade are currently going for $65, parking for just the parade ranges from $35-45 and parking for just the game is going for $45. If you can’t justify spending that much on parking alone, read ahead for other modes of transportation to the stadium. The Metro will run more trains and offer more frequent service on the Metro Gold Line to accommodate the large numbers of anticipated riders on January 2nd. Beginning at 5 a.m. and continuing through 9 p.m., trains will run as frequently as every 7-8 minutes to and from Pasadena. Taxi/Ubers are another popular mode of transportation due to their convenience. However, you have to remember that you won’t be the only one looking for a taxi/Uber and this may have an effect on rates and wait times. Our last suggestion (and definitely our favorite) is utilizing Strack Transportation for your Rose Bowl Limo needs. Our vehicles range from sedans, to Mercedes Benz Sprinter Vans to Motor Coaches, we truly have a vehicle suitable for any group. With a designated chauffeur, you also won’t have to worry about parking fees, navigation (especially if you’re from out out town, Los Angeles is not an easy town to get around), or even getting there on time!

The No. 5 CFP-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions, Champion of the Big Ten Conference, and the No. 9 CFP-ranked USC Trojans, have earned berths to play in the Rose Bowl Game presented by Northwestern Mutual at 1 p.m. PT.

Penn State and USC have met twice in the Rose Bowl Game, including both of their most appearances in 2009. In that game, the No. 5 Trojans defeated the No. 6 Nittany Lions, 38-24, behind a four touchdown and 413-yard performance from USC’s Mark Sanchez. The only other meeting between these two teams was back in 1923, the first game played at the Rose Bowl Stadium. USC also won that meeting, 14-3, but it is known because the game started 50 minutes late because PSU was stuck in traffic.

The Rose Bowl game is an iconic event to attend. Whether you’re considering bus rental or sedan service Strack Transportation has you covered. Contact us today at 888-781-5466 or at www.rosebowllimo.com to book your 2017 Rose Bowl experience.
