2016 LA County Fair

2016 LA County Fair

Although September marks the end of summer, the fun has really just begun for the people of Los Angeles County as none other than the LA Fair has returned to the Fairplex in pomona. From food, to taking the plunge on the rollercoaster and game galore, this is a family friendly event everyone will want to attend!

The fair runs from September 2-25th, 2016. Hours are noon-1o pm Wednesday, noon-11 pm Thursday, noon-midnight Friday, 10am-midnight Saturday and 10am-10pm Sunday. But beware! Labor Day weekend will offer extended hours and the fair will be open that Monday.

The admission ticket breakdown is as follows: On weekdays, tickets are $14 for adults, $8 for children (6-12), and $10 for adults 60 and over; on weekends and holidays, adults are $20, children $12 and seniors $15. Children under 6 are always free. General admission parking is $15 and VIP parking is $30. Carnival tickets are $100 for 200, $50 for 100 and $20 for 40. A carnival ride wristband is $50. Some attractions have an additional cost, including igloo ice skating and sledding ($5), Jurassic Planet ($5) and various concerts.

Don’t want to drive or pay for parking? Head to the nearest Metro station and get off at the Pomona Metrolink Station. From there, grab the Line 197 bus to the Fairplex. In honor of the LA County Fair, there will be late-night service from Union Station to the fair. Another incentive to take the Metro? This year, Metrolink riders will receive a special $12 fair admission ticket on weekends. Although public transportation is easy and cheap… you have to fight the crowd, which can cause more stress than it’s worth. That’s when utilizing a premier transportation service like Strack Transportation comes in for the win. With a customized itinerary, we can cater a trip to you and your family.

Now the LA County Fair wouldn’t be the same without music. Some of the lineup include:? Iggy Azalea on September 10; I Love the 90’s featuring Vanilla Ice, Kid N Play, Color Me Badd, All 4 One, Tone Loc and Young MC on September 16; Billy Currington and LeAnn Rimes on September 24 and Chicago on September 25.
