Toshiba Classic

The Toshiba Classic is a golf tournament on the Champions Tour, the crown jewel of the 50 and over PGA Tour Champions will be the 23rd in Toshiba Classic history.  Born in 1995 as the Toshiba Senior Classic and played at Mesa Verde Country Club in Costa Mesa, the tournament was moved the next year to Newport Beach, where it is now the longest running venue on tour with the longest running title sponsorship.

In 2000, the Toshiba Classic was the first PGA TOUR Champions event to raise $1 million for charity and the tournament has raised over $19 million in 19 years.  The Toshiba Classic continues to be the most philanthropic tournament in PGA TOUR Champions history.  Hoag Hospital Charity Sports produces the Toshiba Classic, and funds raised support Hoag hospital.

The Toshiba Classic will benefit the Mary and Dick Allen Diabetes Center which provides comprehensive services for those with risk for diabetes regardless of their ability to pay.  The Diabetes Center is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of people with diabetes through its clinical, education and support services.
